Reuters reports that Comcast is working with the Hollywood studios to investigate whether they can figure out a way to show new movies at home, at a much higher premium.
As a father of two young boys who can't make it to the theaters as much as he would like, and I don't always want to wait for DVD, I would kill for this option. When you add up parking, dinner, movie theater food, babysitters, and then the actual movie tickets, it easily adds up to the $30 to $50 that Comcast might charge. Moreso, if I could Tivo it on opening night, and then watch it when the kids finally go to bed, even better.
