He actually wrote this to describe Pineapple Express and it was used as a pull quote in a New York Times ad:

This is like if Superbad met Midnight Run and they had a baby and then meanwhile that freaky Quentin Tarantino talk from Pulp Fiction and True Romance met that freaky Judd Apatow TV stuff from Freaks and Geeks and Undeclared and they had a baby, and by some miracle those babies met — and fucked — this would be the funny shit that they birthed.

Admittedly, he was channeling one of the film’s characters, but… come on.

A Tale of Two High School Experiences

Did it strike anyone else as odd that both Superbad and High School Musical 2 debuted on the exact same day, both detailing high school life, but having, um, very different perspectives to say the least?

I'm waiting for someone to do the deep social analysis on what it means that in one high school, Zac Efron really just wants to sing, dance and play sports with his friends.  Meanwhile down the road at the other high school, Michael Cera, Jonah Hill, and McLovin are trying to figure out how to get fake IDs, have sex before they graduate, buy alcohol, get someone to "fellashe" them, and spend an inordinate amount of time figuring out which porn website to subscribe to.

I thought Portfolio was going to do the work for me, but they just recapped the monster HSM2 numbers.

Then, what does it mean that both films are making gobs of cash?

Junkets suck.

Interviews like this make them tolerable.  If only it were real  :)
